Keith and Candi Scheiderer have lived at Scheiderer Farms for 18 years- their entire married life- and are the 4th generation of call this farm home. It is located distant from the road providing beautiful views of the countryside and a sense of peaceful tranquility. Until 10 years ago, the farm was home to a dairy farm complete with a large vegetable garden and apple trees. One cannot overlook the largest gardens-fields of grain and soybeans- which are still maintained by Keith's parents Russ and Nancy Scheiderer. But in keeping with Keith's bachelor in science in agronomy and his love for growing, the farm evolved into a full service greenhouse.
In 1998 after a lot of dreaming and planning, the greenhouse began to take shape. Their gardens became a showcase for the perennials, shrubs, and annuals they offer. Customers can meander through and enjoy the gardens while discovering ideas for their own beds. Keith says they've never had a "grand plan" but have added new beds and new ideas have emerged that they can share with their customers. Keith and Candi continue to plan for new gardens because they feel there is no better aid to customers than visualizing various combinations of perennials, shrubs, and annuals as they truly exist throughout the growing season.
