Re-acclimating Indoor Plants

Re-acclimating Indoor Plants

Grab some coffee and join Candi on her back porch to discuss re-acclimating your plants indoors. Many of us give our indoor plants a little summertime vacation outside, which promotes health and growth. Watch the video link below for in-depth tips from Candi! **Make sure you watch until the end for some indoor plant hacks too!

-Mid September you want to begin transitioning plants to full shade, close to your house. This may be a porch, close to your house, or towards the back of a covered patio Let them hang out here for a few days/weeks to adjust to the difference in light before they come inside.

-Give all plants a good watering/rinse of the leaves.

-While they're in the shade (and leaves have dried), treat with a 3-in-1 spray, or a solution of a drop dish soap with water. We tend to prefer a chemical approach in this setting, as we want to completely eradicate any hidden bugs/insects. If you don't kill them now, they will join you all winter inside!

-Begin transitioning after a few days of being cleaned/sprayed, beginning with a sunny window, preferably somewhere with the window open. Now you're able to still keep the air flow/humidity they're used to, so they don't go into shock.

-Over the next few week/months, you can have fun arranging your plants indoors, finding proper lighting for the winter months. These plants are guaranteed joy over the winter, to hold you over until spring!

As always, ask if you have any questions!
